NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) – An NFL reporter for CBS says Saints quarterback Drew Brees is reportedly seeking a four-year contract worth $100 million.

Jason La Canfora reports on his Twitter page that Brees and the Saints have been “chatting” about the new contract this week.

Brees has previously said he will not discuss his contract during the regular season. He signed a five-year, $100 million deal in 2012. He is currently in his final year of the contract.

The regular season starts Sunday, September 11, when the Saints play the Oakland Raiders in the Superdome.

Brees is 37 years old and had a shoulder injury last season, though CBS Sports notes that he’s been “remarkably consistent” since he joined the team.
