Deadly night in New Orleans; 2 killed and 3 others shot in 4 separate incidents
NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) – It was busy night for the NOPD. Two people were killed by gunfire and three others were shot in four separate incidents.
The first shooting happened around 8 p.m. Sunday.
Investigators say a man was shot in the leg near the intersection of North Villere and St. Bernard Avenue.
He was taken to the hospital in unknown condition.
Around midnight, officers were called to the intersection of Tchoupitoulas and Peniston streets, where they found a man who had been shot several times.
He was taken to the hospital ,where he later died.
Less than two hours later, officers were called to the corner of Humanity Street and Gentilly Boulevard.
That’s where they found a male victim shot in the head.
He was also take to the hospital, where he later died.
Finally, around 4 a.m., officers responded to a shooting call near the intersection of Republic and Law streets.
Two people were shot at that location.
Officers say a man and a woman were both taken to the hospital in unknown condition. They were sitting in a car at the time of the shooting. NOPD says there is no word on their conditions yet.
