NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) - September is here! Anne Cutler is giving us the low-down on fairs, festivals, and events happening this weekend.
It's Labor Day Weekend, and that means it's time for Southern Decadence. The largest gay event in New Orleans is going on all weekend long. Decadence includes parades, block parties and walking tours, all for free! The theme this year is Decadence takes the world.
While you out at Decadence, head to the Ace hotel’s music venue, “Three Keys” for five nights of free Decadent performances! This special celebration, called Cake, will feature eclectic and exciting programming, including London Institution Horse Meat Disco! Guests can use code BLANCHE to book a room at Ace New Orleans for Southern Decadence weekend for a discount on their room rate, VIP access for two to the Mezzanine during shows at Three Keys, plus two free drinks anywhere on the property.
All weekend long, city park will be hosting the Lousiana Seafood Festival. It’s sure to be a great time, with music, an art village and of course, seafood from some of the best restaurants in New Orleans!
Or take a trip to Morgan City to attend the infamous Shrimp and Petroleum Festival! Attend a water parade of shrimp boats, witness the blessing of the fleet and eat the most creatively cooked shrimp you can find!
