Mandeville nursing home employee accused of raping 78-year-old resident
MANDEVILLE, La. (WGNO) – Mandeville Police arrested an employee of an assisted living facility Monday for allegedly raping a 78-year-old resident of the nursing home that cares for people with Alzheimer’s and dementia.
Jerry Kan, 58, who worked as a cook at Beau Provence Memory Care Facility in Mandeville, was booked Monday on one count of first-degree rape.
Kan reportedly had intercourse with the woman on Aug. 21. The incident happened inside the woman’s room.
Kan had been working at Beau Provence since April 2016. He had not previously worked for any other assisted living facilities.
