Flood victims get free admission to Ponchartrain Home Show

Kenner, LA (WGNO) - The 29th Annual Pontchartrain Home Show kicks off Friday in the Pontchartrain Center, 4545 Williams Blvd, noon – 7 p.m.
This year’s show will feature exhibitors who have the latest products in kitchens, bathrooms, as well the latest trends in outdoor living, such as full outdoor kitchens, spas, landscaping and more. Show visitors can stroll down dozens of aisles to see hundreds of vendors. In addition, there are several features this year including:
“Taste of Louisiana” – Louisiana is not only known for its cuisine, but is fast becoming recognized for its production of various liquors, beer and wine. This year, show visitors can taste from an assortment of beverages from several breweries, vineyards and distillers located in Louisiana.
New Orleans School of Cooking – chefs Pat Hirsch and Tom Nagelin will take to the kitchen and hosts cooking demo throughout the home show. Cooking demo times are:
          Friday, August 26:
          2:00 pm - Chef Pat Hirsch (Jambalaya)
          5:00 pm - Chef Tom Nagelin (Gumbo)

Friday, August 26              Noon - 7:00 p.m.
Saturday, August 27           10:00 a.m. - 7:00 p.m.
Sunday, August 28            10:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
**Anyone from declared disaster parishes due to recent flooding will be admitted for free. ID is required.
