St. James Parish prepares for more flooding

ST. JAMES PARISH (WGNO) - Only 10 homes were damaged in St. James Parish, according to Mickey Roussel, former High School football coach of Riverside Academy who now works on the emergency preparedness team in St. James.

"One home is too many, but I think through the efforts of the people of St. James Parish we did save quite a few homes," said Roussel.

Flood waters are draining in St. James, and some home owners begin to take down the handmade sandbag levees surrounding their homes, while other call on their neighbors to share their sandbags in the event of future flooding.

With some activity still going on in the Atlantic, some feel it is best to remain prepared than start the sandbag process all over again.
