NOPD: Suspect sought for sexually assaulting two young girls and robbing a third at gunpoint

NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) – NOPD is seeking a suspect who sexually assaulted two girls and robbed a third at gunpoint over the past 24 hours.

According to NOPD, officers responded Thursday to a female juvenile who said she was robbed at gunpoint near the corner of Third and Magnolia streets. The victim said a black man walked up to her and stole her iPhone at gunpoint. He also grabbed her arm and tried to drag her away, but the victim was able to escape.

About 6 a.m. Friday, officers responded to a report of a woman who was sexually assaulted at the intersection of Loyola Avenue and Franklin Court.

The victim told police she was walking in the area when she saw an unknown black male. As she continued walking, she realized the suspect was following her. The victim said the suspect then pulled out a gun, took her cell phone and then grabbed her by the arm and forced her into an alley. He then sexually assaulted her and ran off.

Just before 8 a.m. Friday, officers responded to a report of a sexual assault in the 2300 block of Freret Street involving a female juvenile.

The victim told police she was walking in the area when she approached by an unknown black male. The victim said the suspect asked her if she had seen his dog. The suspect then grabbed the victim by the arm, forced her into an alley and sexually assaulted her. A nearby witness saw the assault and stopped it, but the suspect fled.

In all three cases, the victims described the suspect as a black man who appeared to be in his mid to late 30s, standing about 5’8” tall and weighing about 220 pounds.

The victims described the suspect as wearing a black shirt, black pants and armed with a handgun.
