Suspect arrested for several acts of vandalism, including vulgar messages at Isidore Newman School

NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) – A 19-year-old has been arrested in connection with several acts of vandalism in and around Uptown.

Peter Curtis, 19, was arrested today and booked on seven counts of criminal mischief (graffiti) and one count of terrorizing.

He’s accused of spray-painting vulgar and threatening messages on the campus of Isidore Newman School this week, an act that prompted school officials to delay the first day of classes.

Curtis is also reportedly responsible for spray-painting the wall of the Children's Advocacy Center, another act of vandalism in the 7100 block of Plum Street, three other incidents on Calhoun Street and one on Perrier Street.

Tips from the public helped officers track down Curtis as the suspect.
