NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) – The most romantic French restaurant in the world is, according to Bon Appetit, right here in New Orleans.
N7, a French bistro in the Bywater, was named one of the top 10 best new restaurants in the country by Bon Appetit. It joins restaurants in Los Angeles, Philadelphia, New York City, Atlanta and other major American cities.
The self-described offbeat French destination with a fabulous courtyard has been highly rated since it opened in late 2015, though the owners are modest about the restaurant’s success.
Tucked away at 1117 Montegut, food critics rave about the restaurant, but they say it’s a well-kept secret because it’s so hard to find.
The Bon Appetit writer was a big fan of the “Can to Table” menu, which offers fancy tins of seafood, like lobster rillettes from France.
“At that moment, time stood still. But everyone has to return to the real world at some point. At least now I know the way back here.”
