Food and cleaning supplies on the way to flood victims

New Orleans (WGNO)--The Second Harvest Food Bank is lending a helping hand.

Workers are sending out five truck filled with tens of thousands of pounds of food and cleaning supplies.

The trucks are headed to Baton Rouge, the North Shore, and Acadiana.

Natalie Jayroe with Second Harvest said, "We've received so much help from Baton Rouge in the past, so it's nice to be able to give back to them now that their facing such a crisis."

The food bank will continue to work with shelters across the state along with the United Way and Red Cross to provide more food and supplies for the victims.
