Baton Rouge officer saves young boy’s cherished wrestling belt from flooded home

BATON ROUGE (WGNO) – Amid the high water, the life loss and the sheer devastation of the historic Louisiana floods, we’ve seen some extraordinary acts of humanity.

A corporal with the Baton Rouge Police Department is on that list.

The Baton Rouge Police Department shared photos on its Facebook page of Cpl. Doug Chutz “wrestling” with a little boy who was thrilled to find out that officers were able to save his wrestling belt from his flooded home.

He was so happy, in fact, that he showed Cpl. Chutz the wrestling moves that helped him earn the belt he so desperately wanted to save.

“It wasn’t long before Cpl. Chutz had to tap out!” the police department said.
