Friday is Wear Blue Day to celebrate Men’s Health Week.

It’s part of a year-round campaign to raise awareness about the importance of men’s health and the need for men to get more checkups.

According to the Men’s Health Network, men make about half as many preventative visits to the doctor as women, and men are more likely than women to be uninsured.

Men also have a higher death rate for most leading causes of death, including cancer, heart disease, diabetes and suicide. One in two men will develop cancer.

Hashtags for the worldwide event include #ShowUsYourBlue, #wearblueday, #menshealthnetwork and #menshealthmonth.
