CLINTON, La. (WGNO) – Four people were killed including a 1-year-old girl in a head-on crash near Clinton, Louisiana on Memorial Day, state police report. The two-vehicle collision happened about 9:30 p.m. Monday on LA 67 north of LA 432 in East Feliciana Parish.

Initial investigations show that a car driven by 22-year-old Brandon Temple attempted to pass two vehicles on LA 67 while approaching a hill. When Temple reached the crest of a hill, his car slammed into a 2003 Mitsubishi Outlander driving in the opposite direction.

State police said upon impact both vehicles became fully engulfed in flames.

All occupants in both vehicles died in the crash.

19-year-old Holley Thomas and 1-year-old Hazel Temple of Denham Springs were in Temple’s car. 24-year-old Jakyle Hall of Norwood was the sole occupant in his vehicle.

Due to the severity of the crash, seat belt and alcohol usage is unknown, said state police.

As the Memorial Day weekend comes to an end, state troopers have investigated ten fatal crashes resulting in the deaths of 15 people.
