NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) - "I encourage everyone to come in. See it while it's fresh, blooming, going, exciting because you won't want to miss this," says NOMA Volunteer Committee Chair Dana Hansel.
The New Orleans Museum of Art’s “Art In Bloom” opens to the public Thursday through Sunday and showcases truly spectacular pieces of living art throughout the museum.
And this year's theme: "Artful Entertaining,” is what it's all about.
Each room in the museum features one-of-a-kind floral designs that will take your breath away.
The possibilities are limitless.
"It's just so different because you will never see this many flowers used so creatively in one place,” says Hansel.
We'd venture to guess hundreds of thousands of fresh blooms, plants and grasses, all blended together and expertly arranged to get that "wow" reaction from visitors.
The patron party is Wednesday and doors open for public viewing Thursday through Sunday.
There are lectures and a luncheon at the Pavilion of the Two Sisters in City Park Thursday with a Saks Fifth Avenue fashion show.
Then later on, you can treat your taste buds to a cocktail reception with the guest speakers.
But regardless which event you choose you won't want to miss this year's "Art In Bloom" at NOMA.
"You definitely need to take your time and go through it and take it in," says Hansel.
