Convent, LA tornado upgraded from EF-2 to EF-3

(Covent, LA) The National Weather Service Slidell has increased the strength assessment of the Convent, LA tornado that killed two people on Tuesday.

Further examination of damage across the area led officials to increase their categorization of this tornado. Previously considered and EF 2 with maximum wind speeds of 135 mph, the National Weather Service has ranked it an EF 3, with maximum wind speed of 140 mph.
