New Orleans (WGNO)--A fitting tribute to a legend in the New Orleans medical community.

The Tulane Medical Center dedicated its First Responders Clinic to Dr. Norman McSwain.

Dr. McSwain was a pioneer in the field of trauma medicine and helped build the trauma center at Charity Hospital.

He died last year.

Dr. McSwain started a walk-in clinic many years ago for the first responders at Tulane.

And the Dr. Norman McSwain Clinic will carry on his mission.
