Many British travel to the island of Cyprus to vacation in the crystal blue waters and abundant sunshine…but not temperatures up to 135F! Cyprus is the third largest island in the Mediterranean sea.

The scorching temperatures are courtesy of a heat wave over the middle east, according to the UK Meteorology office. Closer to the coast temperatures have reached 104 F, or 40 Celsius.

The nation urges people to take the proper precautions and stay hydrated. They have even gone so far as to say that steering wheels on cars have melted, and asked people not to leave newspaper on windshields for fear it could catch fire!
