HOOVER, Ala. (WGNO) – Quarterback Anthony Jennings and two teammates could be back on the LSU football team as early as the end of the week, according to a source who wished to remain anonymous. The three are currently suspended from the team.

Jennings, cornerback Dwayne Thomas, and defensive lineman Maquedius Bain were arrested after an alleged incident at the West campus apartments in Baton Rouge in June.

Bain and Jennings were arrested for unauthorized entry of a dwelling. Thomas was also charged with unauthorized entry of a dwelling and simple burglary. The three were allegedly trying to retrieve items they say were stolen from Jennings.

The trio has never been formally charged.

At SEC media days in Hoover, Alabama head coach Les Miles said he was “confident” the issue would be resolved.

“I have done research the best I can, and the legal process operates without me,” said Miles. But, I am optimistic.”

Miles, running back Leonard Fournette, offensive lineman Vadal Alexander, and linebacker Kendall Beckwith represented LSU at media days.

LSU was picked to finish third in the SEC West. Alabama was picked to win the West, Auburn second. But, somehow the media picked Auburn to win the league title.

The LSU head coach said he really likes his team.

“This football is young and talented. If we continue to work hard, we will like how we finish,” said Miles.
