‘Hurricane Preparedness Day’ encourages people to get emergency kits ready

GRETNA, La. (WGNO) – Hurricane Preparedness Day is an opportunity for Jefferson Parish leaders to encourage all citizens to prepare now to protect their family, friends, and property in the event of a major storm or hurricane.

Additionally, on this day, Jefferson Parish Emergency Management personnel will be positioned at several locations throughout the Parish, including local shopping centers, Jefferson Parish East Bank and West Bank Regional Libraries, the Joseph S. Yenni Building in Elmwood, and the General Government Building in Gretna distributing free hurricane preparedness information.
