NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) -- Saturday afternoon, the Irish Channel St. Patrick’s Day Club hosted its annual parade that runs through the streets of the historic neighborhood. Starting at 1:00 marchers made their way down Magazine Street to Jackson Avenue, St. Charles Avenue, then back to Magazine and Jackson Ave.
The group was founded in 1947 and now boasts more than 1400 members. This is its 66th year to parade. The march is preceded by a Mass and parade celebration at St. Mary’s Assumption Church at Constance and Josephine streets.
