KENNER, La. (WGNO) — We've all seen them, the beautiful and glamorous costumes wore by many during Mardi Gras season, but where do they come from?

D & D Creations in Kenner makes costumes for some of New Orleans' largest krewes including Endymion, Bacchus, and Zulu.

Diane Brown of D & D Creations says at least 400-500 royal court costumes are pushed out every year along with about 7,000 krewe costumes. And there are no duplicates. Each costume is unique.

Before each costume is picked up, Brown says a krewe member has to count every item and that sometimes can be in the thousands.
