Violent Weekend in the New Orleans: Woman Stabbed & Several People Shot

NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) – It’s been a violent weekend in New Orleans with several shootings and now police are trying to figure out who stabbed a 58-year-old woman and left her body in a vacant lot.

the victims name is not being released at this time.

Police say her body was found just after 6am Sunday at a vacant lot on the 1400 block of North Robertson Street in Treme. They say she was stabbed multiple times and pronounced dead on the scene.

In New Orleans East police say a 17-year-old woman was shot multiple times. The shooting happened early Sunday morning just before 1am on the 7100 block of Bunker Hill Road. The victim was taken to the hospital and listed in stable condition.

This comes hours after two woman were shot  outside a home on the 3500 block of Paris Avenue in Gentilly. Police say they were sitting on the porch when shots rang out.
