Pelican Park in Mandeville will get a new entrance as part of an effort to relieve traffic woes in the area.  Mandeville and St. Tammany Parish leaders announced the project Tuesday afternoon.

The plan calls for a second entrance to stem from a road between Highway 190 and Highway 1088.

The parish says it will take about a year for engineering work on the project to be completed.  Construction could begin by the fall of 2015.
