Hammond Pays Tribute to Brittany Thomas

Much of Hammond showed up to say good bye to 21 year old Brittany Thomas, the only person killed in the Bourbon Street shooting nearly two-weeks ago.

“Fun loving, outgoing, loved kids, loved taking care if people,” says Brittany’s godfather Preston Randall.

“We just pray not only for our family, but the ones who were the cause if this.”

Gov. Bobby Jindal signed a governor’s warrant to extradite Bourbon Street shooting suspect Trung Le. He’s been jailed in Mississippi since his arrest earlier this month.

A second shooter remains on the loose.

“We pray for them as well,” says Randall. “We pray that those thoughts and those type of actions don’t enter into the minds of others and cause other families to go through what we’re doing right now.”

Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Saturday, at the First True Love World Outreach Ministries in Ponchatoula.
