KENNER, La. (WGNO) – Homicide detectives in Kenner are trying to figure out if a shooting Tuesday involving a recently separated husband and wife was justifiable.
Four children inside a home in the 2400 block of Kentucky Avenue called police after they heard gunshots.
When officers arrived about 2:30 a.m. they found Lyndell Desilva with a gunshot wound. Police say he was was carrying a gun, but was shot with a different one. The 38-year-old was rushed to Interim LSU Hospital where he died.
Four children ages 4, 10, 12 and 14 lived with Desilva’s estranged wife.
No word yet if any charges will be filed.
