BATON ROUGE (WGNO) – Under a new Louisiana law signed Thursday by Gov. Bobby Jindal people who are caught littering could lose their driver’s license if they don’t pay the fine or appear in court.
Read HB1113 HERE.
The new law which goes in effect August 1, is aimed at encouraging people to take litter laws seriously.
This year Jindal also approved a law that classified cigarette butts as litter and allowed higher fines for people who throw them out car windows.
That’s HB1075. It also goes in effect August 1.
