How Last Winter’s Freeze Was Good Practice For Hurricane Season

As parish leaders across the region prepare for this hurricane season, some say we already got a little practice for sheltering at home earlier this year.

The freezing winter weather in late January brought much of southeast Louisiana to a grinding halt.  Businesses  and roads closed.  Curfews were imposed, and people stayed home.

With the start of hurricane season here, some area parishes are reviewing their actions during the freezing weather to make sure they have proper plans for responding to a smaller storm this hurricane season.
