TERREBONNE PARISH (WGNO) – A former H.L. Bourgeois High School teacher accused of being sexually involved with a student has now been charged with intentionally spreading AIDS, Terrebonne Parish authorities said.
Derrick Nesby, 37, was the students track coach and teacher. Authorities arrested Nesby Wednesday on one count of felony carnal knowledge of a juvenile.
A further investigation revealed Nesby knowingly spread the AIDS virus. He has now been charged with one count of intentional exposure to the AIDS virus.
Nesby’s bond was set at $500,000. He will appear in court Friday.
