NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) – Pelicans general manager Dell Demps said the team is not “happy where we are.”

New Orleans will miss the playoffs for the third straight season, but Demps said the Pelicans have improved despite a rash of injuries.

New Orleans had 33 wins heading into Wednesday night’s season finale against Houston at the Smoothie King Center.

“We are going to be creative, we are going to do everything we can to improve our roster,” said Demps. “Can I say we are going to get this guy, are we going to trade that guy? I can’t say that right now.”

If the Pelicans do not pick in the top 5, they will send their first round pick to Philadelphia as part of the Jrue Holiday trade.

Demps said guard Eric Gordon had arthroscopic knee surgery Wednesday.

He said forward Ryan Anderson, who had neck surgery, will be ready for the start of training camp.

Here’s what Demps said about the Pelicans available money for possible summer free agent signings.
