LA-1 Closed: 18-Wheeler Flips Off Exit Ramp

PORT ALLEN, La. (WGNO) – Fire departments and road crews have been working to clear LA-1 in West Baton Rouge Parish after a tractor-trailer flipped off a ramp while exiting Interstate-10 Tuesday morning.

Traffic officials told WBRZ they hope to have the highway reopen by evening rush hour.

According to the Port Allen Fire Department, the 18-wheeler carrying ammonium nitrate fertilizer went through a cement side wall, crashing on to LA-1.

In a State Police traffic alert officials said LA-1 could be closed for the next seven hours.

No one was injured in the accident.

Authorities told WBRZ the truck driver will be cited for losing control of his vehicle.
