NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) – The Charging Buccaneers’ win over East Jefferson this month not only landed Landry-Walker High School it’s first state title since the merger, but it brought the school and surrounding community together.
“It feels outstanding. On behalf of our principle and the Landry-Walker family we’re happy to win the state championship,” coach Brian Gibson said. “It’s a calling card for student athletes. This merge is not just good for the kids but the community.”
The Charging Buccaneers beat the Warriors 76-56 for the class 4A state title.
