Another day another ‘Who dat’ favorite is out.
New Orleans Saints running back Darren Sproles has been traded to the Philadelphia Eagles for a 2014 fifth-round draft pick, according to ESPN.
Last week, rumors swirled about Sproles’ pending release after he told his fans goodbye, via twitter. But due to heavy interest the Saints decided to trade Sproles instead of release him.
Sproles told ESPN’s Josina Anderson yesterday that he would of rather been released by the Saints than traded.
“I don’t know where they would send me because I have no control over it, and I want to be able to pick [a team],” Sproles said.
The 30-year-old was set to enter the final year of his contract.
