Jefferson Parish deputies are looking for someone they’re calling a person of interest in the New Year’s Day murder of an army sergeant on the west bank.

Previously, deputies arrested and charged Darwin Bethune for the murder of Joseph Anderson on Ray Street in Marrero.  Anderson had just dropped-off his children at the home of family members when he was shot and his car stolen.  The vehicle was recovered the next day.

Sheriff Newell Normand said Bethune was dating Anderson’s ex-wife.

As part of their investigation, deputies released security camera video from inside of a French Quarter night club.  The video shows a man, identified by deputies as Bethune, entering the building along with another man.

Deputies do not know the name of the other man.  They’re asking for the public’s help to identify him.  Call in your tip to Crimestoppers.
