Tigers roll, UNO falls, Tulane wins at LA Tech, Dolphins romp

Aaron Nola threw seven shutout innings, striking out 8 as LSU beat Virginia Tech 9-0 Friday night at Alex Box Stadium.

Nola, 2-0, has thrown 13 shutout innings this season. Sean McMullen hit a three run homer for the Tigers, only their second of the year. LSU is now 5-0 for the season.

Tulane tallied 6 times in the 5th inning on the way to a 12-8 win over Louisiana Tech in the Wave’s Conference USA opener. Emerson Gibbs of Jesuit, pitched 5 innings of 2 run baseball in relief of JP France. Gibbs earned his first college victory.

At Zephyr Field, UNO fell to South Alabama 5-0. The Privateers mustered only three hits.

Delgado won a pair, 7-3 over Copiah-Lincoln, and 22-1 over Dupage. In the nightcap, Dolphins head coach Joe Scheuermann won his 799th game.
