How To Help Houma Christmas Morning Fire Survivors

A relief effort in is underway for two families who lost everything including the lives of 3 children.Iglesia de Dios Getsemani in East Houma is organizing relief efforts for surviving family members of a fatal Christmas morning fire.

Three children ages 11, 12 and 13 perished.

Ten family members, mostly children, escaped.

Pastor Sal Herrera says funeral expenses present a tremendous burden.


As of December 27th, a special bank account is open if people wish to help.

Financial donations can be deposited at any Capital One bank to Account #2082365454

Herrera says any and all donations like clothes and basic necessities can be brought to two locations.

In Houma–  Iglesia de Dios Getsemani church at 431 grand Caillou Rd.

In Metairie– Iglesia de Dios Getsemani church at 2701 Transcontinental drive.
