Tyreke Evans picked the perfect time for his best game of the season.

Evans scored a season high 25 points and grabbed 12 rebounds as New Orleans beat Sacramento 113-100 Monday night. The Pelicans salvaged the final game of a five game road trip.

Evans also had 6 rebounds and 3 assists. He was acquired by the Pelicans in a sign and trade this past summer and signed to a $44 million contract.

“I know they don’t have any shot blockers,” said Evans. “So, I just drove the ball to the basket every chance I got.”

The Pelicans outscored the Kings 36-23 in the fourth quarter. New Orleans took advantage of 22 Kings turnovers.

Evans’ previous season high was 24 against the Knicks in a win at New York December 1st.

DeMarcus Cousins led the Kings with 24 points. Isaiah Thomas had 21 points. Former Hornet Marcus Thornton scored 19 points.
