There’s a harmonica-playing grandma in Gonzales who has been spreading holiday cheer for nearly two decades.
88-year-old Evelyn Frederic never leaves home without her harmonica.
“I take it to the beauty salon, to the doctor’s office and anywhere there will be people to listen to me,” she said.
She has a long-standing gig at Gonzales Health Care where she’s been performing for 18 years.
“For our residents her harmonica playing always brings joy. They are so happy when Ms. Evelyn comes in to do her songs. One thing about her harmonica playing is she never gets tired and she’s always so jolly,” Gonzales Health Care Activities Director, Caroline Henderson said.
Frederic visits Gonzales Health Care almost every Wednesday to perform and during the holidays she plays classic Christmas carols.
