The Orleans Parish Sheriff’s Office announced Tuesday that an inmate named Sean Andry escaped from the parish jail.

Andry was behind bars on theft charges.  Deputies say he scaled the razor wire surrounding the exercise area of the jail.  They also say there was evidence that Andry was injured during the escape.

In a statement announcing the escape, the sheriff’s office also announced it would investigate the actions of a deputy and supervisor on duty at the time.
