Former NOPD officer Jason Cross pleads guilty in Federal Court to drug charges

New_Orleans,_LA_Police(from the Department of Justice) – JASON CROSS, 35, a former New Orleans Police Officer, pled guilty this morning before U.S. District Judge Jane Triche Milazzo to a felony drug violation, announced U.S. Attorney Kenneth Allen Polite, Jr.  CROSS was charged by a bill of information, with attempting to possess with the intent to distribute a quantity of cocaine hydrochloride.  CROSS pled guilty pursuant to a written plea agreement and signed a factual basis which was placed in the court record.

CROSS faces a sentence of not more than 20 years in prison, a fine of not more than $1,000,000.00, and a three year term of supervised release. Sentencing is scheduled on March 27, 2014 at 10:00 a.m.

This case was investigated by the Federal Bureau of Investigations and was prosecuted by AUSA Jay Quinlan.

    Not much of a surprise . I live in St. John Parish , and some of the biggest drug dealers out here wear badges.
