Without their star forward, the Pelicans continue to thrive.
Jrue Holiday’s drive and three point play with 2.6 seconds left lifted New Orleans to a 131-128 triple overtime win over the Bulls in Chicago Monday night.
The Pelicans won on back to back nights, after Anthony Davis suffered a broken left hand early in the first quarter of Sunday’s game at New York.
Holiday’s 18 foot jumper with 3.9 in regulation tied the game and forced in overtime. In the third overtime, Ryan Anderson’s three pointer with 1:08 to play gave New Orleans a 127-126 lead. Joakim Noah’s running left handed hook in the lane tied the game and set up Holiday’s heroics.
Holiday had 19 points and 12 assists. Ryan Anderson led the Pelicans with 36 points on only 20 shots.
Eric Gordon scored 23 for New Orleans, now 9-8 for the season.
For the second straight season, Davis was injured in the game before he returned to his hometown of Chicago.
The Pelicans host Dallas Wednesday night.
