Nutella has recently experienced a surge in popularity, with many even using the chocolate treat as a healthy breakfast option. Unfortunately, Nutella is really more sugar than anything else, and is far from a healthy option – for breakfast or anytime. But there are a few better-for-you Nutella swap-outs, so today we’re Getting the Skinny with Molly on the best and worst of chocolate-nutty spreads.
Nutella settled class action lawsuit last year for $3 million for health claims/implying via TV ads and labeling that Nutella is a healthy option, and have curbed their health-related marketing messaging, but still launched a nationwide ‘Breakfast Tour’ last year, promoting Nutella as a breakfast food.
