McDonald’s is in the middle of some controversy over their helpline McResources. Some say that it redirects its low-wage employees to government assistance.

The advocacy group “Low Pay Is Not OK” recorded a phone call made to the helpline.

McDonald’s says its hotline is intended to answer questions and provide resources for employees.

News about this helpline comes just a week after a report found that more than half of fast food workers rely on government assistance programs because they just don’t make enough money.
