Algiers Triple Shooting Leaves One Dead

The NOPD is investigating the fatal shooting of a 31-year-old man and the injury of two others.

The Incident happened just before 7 p.m. Wednesday at the intersection of Copernicus and Mardi Gras Boulevard.

The name of the victim has not been released.

Witnesses say the victims were driving in a dark colored Buick when a silver late model vehicle drove along side of the Buick and opened fire.  The suspects drove off in an unknown direction.  Officers arrived and found the victims inside of the vehicle suffering from gunshot wounds.

The 31-year-old male driver later died at the hospital.  A 30-year-old male passenger sustained multiple gunshot wounds. He’s in critical condition.  A second passenger, a 14-year-old girl, sustained non-life threatening gunshot wound to the leg.  She’s listed in stable condition.

Investigators are gathering information to identify the person(s) responsible in this incident, as well as a motive.
