While most people use coffee as inspiration to get out of bed in the morning and start the day, one neurosurgeon and surgeon’s assistant were inspired to create a new tool for spine-fusion surgery. The Hensler Bone Press was invented by Sean Hensler after watching a French Press in action at a coffee-house. The tool allows doctors to harvest more of the patient’s bone during a procedure to use later for fusion. Erin Nicole has the story.
