Students at St Agnes Pre and Middle School got a hands-on lesson Tuesday about responsible pet ownership.

The Humane Society of Louisiana organized the event and brought dogs, a cat, and a rabbit to help demonstrate and keep the kids’ attention.

Fitness expert and animal rescuer Tazzi Colomb also brought one of her pit bulls.  She told the kids how the breed is often mistreated, abused, and maligned.  She also told them how the breed should be cared for properly.
