This weekend the Honey Badger, Tyrann Mathieu, returns home for the first time as an NFL player.
The St. Aug alum says he wants to change the minds of those here in his hometown who wrote him off as a failure.
“I`ve grown up watching the Saints play,” said Mathieu this week. “To finally go out there and have opportunity going against those guys, I`m extremely blessed.”
A year has passed since Mathieu got kicked off the LSU football team after one too many failed drug tests.
“I think we want to see him succeed after what happened with his career at LSU,” says Fox and Hound Manager Henry White. “I think the city is going to embrace him with open arms.”
“We all love the Honey Badger. Who doesn`t love the honey badger?” says Walk On’s employee Carla Hills. “I think he is definitely going to be welcome back.”
Who Dats hope Honey Badger plays good against the Saints. Just not too good.
“I hope you do good Tyrann,” says Hills. “But Who Dat?!”
“I think the Honey Badger is going to make a pretty big comeback,” says White. “He`s going to have a great career . He`s a great player.”
Honey Badger already made one start as a rookie this year.
