Monday afternoon, the Louisiana Seafood Festival announced this years attractions which will include 38 food vendors and nearly 20 musical acts.
The event began after Hurricane Katrina to help revive the tourism industry. Over the years, it has bounced from venue to venue including Lafayette Square, Fulton Street, and Woldenberg Park.
This year’s festival will be at City Park October 11-13.
This year’s hours will be:
Friday, Oct 11, 11:00am to 9:00pm
Saturday, Oct 12, 11:00am to 9:00pm
Sunday, Oct 13, 11:00am to 7:00pm.
This year’s event will also include a 4,000 square foot pavilion with cooking demonstrations from 15 celebrity chefs.
This year’s musical lineup includes Better Than Ezra, Johnny Sketch and the Dirty Notes, Wild Magnolias and The Big Chief Summit, Amanda Shaw, John Papa Gros Band, and others.
In the past, the city hosted both a Louisiana and a New Orleans Seafood Festival. This year, the events are combined into one.
