A former St. Charles Parish Deputy could spend a year behind bars after admitting to handing out bogus traffic tickets.

William Marciante Jr. pleaded guilty to forgery, payroll fraud, and other charges.

The investigation began when the sheriff’s office noticed Marciante’s dashboard camera showed he didn’t stop the people he cited.

Marciante will serve 5 years of probation in addition to jail time.
