Saints pay tribute to Superdome announcer Jerry Romig

It’s goodbye and good luck to Jerry Romig tonight! This will be the last time we’ll hear Jerry as the voice of the Saints in the Mercedes-Benz Superdome.

In 44 years, Jerry never missed a game, but he says it’s time to give himself a break from the announcer’s booth, and from now on he’ll get to enjoy future games as a fan.

The apple doesn’t fall far from the tree: his son, Mark, will take over for dad in the booth at the regular season opener against the Atlanta Falcons.
