Gia Allemand seemed like she had it all: beauty, charisma, fame. After a stint on “The Bachelor” and “Bachelor Pad” the 29-year-old apparently did find love and moved to New Orleans to be near her boyfriend, Pelicans forward Ryan Anderson.
On several social media platforms Gia kept fans and friends informed. Now, those social media sites are blowing up.
ABC News has learned Allemand died today of an apparent suicide. Ryan Anderson found her unconscious in her home Monday and she was rushed to University Hospital. The family says, “Due to a critical loss of brain and organ function, life support was withdrawn.”
“That’s awful; my condolences to her family,” says a client of Gia’s, “She was full of energy and a beautiful woman and a motivating instructor, and she will be missed.”
“I wanted to come see that the other instructors were, I’m sure, having a tough time, so I wanted to just come in and show my support and see how everything was,” says another client.
While in New Orleans Allemand worked as a Pure Barre instructor. She was scheduled to teach classes today in Metairie.
Ryan Anderson says, “Gia was the most beautiful person I knew inside and out.” He goes on to say, “All I have left is to cherish those memories we made together.”
Gia’s last tweet was sent out Sunday, a day before her apparent suicide attempt. In it she quoted the bible writing, “Doing what is right and fair pleases the Lord more than an offering.”
Allemand’s family says the 29-year-old passed away with her mother, boyfriend, and life-long friends by her side.
Funeral arrangements are pending.
